Jajce and Travnik are unique small cities located in central Bosnia and Herzegovina, famous for the history and tradition. Jajce city used to be the capital of the Kingdom of Bosnia while it existed, and in the Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian Empire it kept the same importance. It is famous for its castle, but also for the beautiful waterfalls.
Jajce is one of the most important cities of the Bosnian Kingdom. It is one of the few cities in the world that has a waterfall inside the city surrounded with amazing nature, a close-by lake, and mills. Together with the history and the historical monuments such as fortress and the old town, Jajce has a lot to offer. Jajce is located in central Bosnia, on the confluence rivers Pliva and Vrbas. During the WWII, Jajce gained importance as the center of a large swath of free territory and on 29. November 1943 it hosted the Second Convention of the Anti-Fascist Council Of National Liberation of Yugoslavia (AVNOJ).
Travnik is a town and Municipality administrative center of central Bosnia. Historically, it was the capital city of the governors of Bosnia from 1699 to 1850 and has cultural heritage dating from the Ottoman period. Travnik is also the birthplace of the Nobel prize winner, Ivo Andrić and his house is preserved as a museum. Travnik's tourism is based on history and geography. Nearby Mountain Vlašić is one of the highest peaks of Bosnia and Herzegovina and it is an excellent spot for skiing, hiking and sledding.
